Saw this
idea on
U create and LOVED it...
So I did it... using just a SHARPIE... I'm serious!
I found the silhouette to trace
here.
I think I need to do a little more on the other sides but I had to show you first.
I think I love it.
What do you think? Be honest.
i like it!
ReplyDeletei can draw smiley faces...think it'll have the same effect? lol
Wow! That looks so classy. I absolutely LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteIt looks absolutley amazing! Truly. You would never guess it was done with a sharpie.
ReplyDeleteWow, I can't believe you used a sharpie, it looks so good!!
ReplyDeleteThat's so pretty!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleteWOW! I love it!
ReplyDeleteA Sharpie!?! You are so artistic. That looks so nice.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks amazing. I can't believe all it took was a Sharpie!
ReplyDeleteI just saw this idea too. But, I like your stencil even better than the example! It looks classy and modern!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cute! This is something I'm going to need to try!
ReplyDeletelove it Kathryn! looks like you paid a pretty penny for a designer lamp shade!
ReplyDeleteI think I love it too!
ReplyDeleteLove it, but you'd have to have the right silhouette
ReplyDeleteI did something like this for Halloween, but I cut out black construction paper shapes (like bats and pumpkins) and taped them inside the lamp shade. If you could get some pretty paper shapes or stickers, you could tape/stick them inside your lampshade and get a similar effect, I bet! I'm going to be on the lookout.
ReplyDeleteLove this a lot!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteYou can also water down some craft paint and give a white shade a wash of color to go with the black by putting in on and wiping it off like a stain. I had made a "tiger" lampshade for my daughter's room this way (black stripes and an orange wash) but I made the striped in paint. The sharpie is a much better idea and I'll have to try it! Thanks!
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Love it! I would have never thought to do that myself!
ReplyDeleteI tried this last night it turned out so cute! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI am not confident in my "craftiness" and so I used the back side of a lamp shade I didn't like. It turned out so well and it was very quick and easy. It took 10 minutes tops.
That's a lovely piece! Girls would definitely love this lamp shade. It would make a lovely focal piece in a bedroom.
