lamp shade silhouette

Saw this idea on U create and LOVED it...So I did it... using just a SHARPIE... I'm serious!
I found the silhouette to trace here.
I think I need to do a little more on the other sides but I had to show you first.
I think I love it.
What do you think? Be honest.

  11. I did something like this for Halloween, but I cut out black construction paper shapes (like bats and pumpkins) and taped them inside the lamp shade. If you could get some pretty paper shapes or stickers, you could tape/stick them inside your lampshade and get a similar effect, I bet! I'm going to be on the lookout.

  12. You can also water down some craft paint and give a white shade a wash of color to go with the black by putting in on and wiping it off like a stain. I had made a "tiger" lampshade for my daughter's room this way (black stripes and an orange wash) but I made the striped in paint. The sharpie is a much better idea and I'll have to try it! Thanks!

  14. I tried this last night it turned out so cute! I love it!
I am not confident in my "craftiness" and so I used the back side of a lamp shade I didn't like. It turned out so well and it was very quick and easy. It took 10 minutes tops.
