Summer Splurge

Every summer I pull out my swimsuit and grimace. This summer is different. I splurged on this suit from modbe (that is not me in the suit, you can tell by the thighs, lol).

I got it in the mail a few days ago and was thrilled to find that not only does it fit but with the matching skirt (which I will ALWAYS be wearing) I actually felt...dare I say cute in it.

It's never happened before.

I think that feeling is worth the splurge don't you?

  1. That feeling is definitely worth it! I hate swimsuits and always feel sooo self conscious wearing them. After 3 pregancies and nursing 3 babies(one of which was just weaned a few weeks ago) I'm left w/ no boobs and plenty of butt. I think it's time to trade in my bikinis for a tankini but haven't found one that I like that doesn't make me feel matronly. After all, I'm 29 so I still wanna look cute. Thanks for the link...is there much padding in the top of that one you bought?

  3. The feeling is for SURE worth the splurge. I'm thinking this might be the year for a new swimsuit for me. I either have not so flattering bikini's or a one piece my mom bought when I was in high school. Hhhhmmm, not great choices.

  5. Great suit! Green is my favorite color. But, I actually think you are cuter than the model!

  6. modbe has such cute stuff! I discovered them last year and *almost* bought a suit from there, but wound up going with one from Shade instead.

  10. Hey Kathryn,

  11. Hana,
You totally described my body... little on the top and plenty on the bottom. On the modbe site it tells you what swimsuit is best for the different body shapes. That is why I bought this "halter top" style and it totally works! It is padded and it balances my body shape out really good.
Good luck in your quest for the perfect swimsuit!

  12. Love this suit! Question...did you get it with the brown skirt? Does it look good together? Does it look like it matches? I usually prefer the top and skirt to have some of the same colors, but that's hard to come by in these type of suits!

  13. Hi Jennifer,
In the picture she is wearing brown bottoms but I actually got black bottoms and a black skirt. The green is more of a kelly green so I think it looks a lot better with the black.

  14. Totally worth it if it makes you feel good about yourself! I HATE being in a swimsuit-especially after having had my son and now being pregnant AGAIN!

I tried on maternity swimsuit last week and just wanted to cry! lol
