Remember how I told you I was on the look-out for another funky frame?
FOUND IT!!!
Uh, Huh... pretty funky.
You know how I love spray paint. This time it's gotta be RED.
A little chalkboard paint in the middle and...
WALAA!
Yes, everybody in the craft-blogging world have been making chalkboards for months now, I know, I know. I'm a little slow on this one but now that I've made one of my own I can understand the obsession.
So easy, so funky.
It's going in my craft room... and when I say craft room I mean the little corner in our loft with a table and a sewing machine on it. ;) (I secretly dream about a craft room with like 7 big funky frames in 7 different colors adorning the walls... yeah .)
oh my, I love it! Gotta git me one of those! kove the fabulous frame!
ReplyDeleteIt looks great! I am with you...a little behind the chalk board craze, but love how it looks and hope to transform something soon!

i think its super cute! i just saw some other chalkboard makeovers on other blogs, i think i really need to make one myself soon!
ReplyDeletethe frame and color is amazing. where do you ge chalkboard? does someone cut it for you?
ReplyDeleteyour ps made me laugh - mine would too
ReplyDeleteHusbands are free to hate as long as they let us continue to decorate :). I for one think it's adorable!
ReplyDeleteHusbands NEVER get it!
ReplyDeleteSOOOO cute! I always love a good chalkboard!!
If your husband makes you get rid of it, feel free to send it to me.
ReplyDeleteI want a funky frame! It's only natural that your hubby hates it. That's what makes it yours. ;)
ReplyDeleteWell, clearly your husband has no taste. i love it!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Red is my favorite too! As long as your husband lets you create its fine. Just because he doesn't like it doesn't mean you can't either. Love it up!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Do you have a favorite brand of spray paint? Every time I do a project with spray paint I am disappointed because the paint does not hold up. Any suggestions? Thanks!
ReplyDeleteI am becoming increasing convinced that I need a chalkboard in my kitchen to post my weekly menu on. What did you use for the chalkboard space? (Does that make sense? Did the frame come with something in it that you painted or did you use MDF?)
ReplyDeleteOh I love it! How could your husband hate it???!!! I just made my FIRST chalkboard a couple weeks ago. So you're not the only one who was a little late jumping on the bandwagon. haha
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!!! you might have some competition in the search of funky frames now LOL!!
ReplyDeleteokay...so...how do you paint it? do you sandpaper it first? do you just spray it? can you post the answer because i won't see it in your comments? thanks!!! (i love it!!!)
ReplyDeleteLooks great!!
ReplyDeleteMy husband would hate it too but I LOVE IT! I've been looking at everyone's chalkboard ideas for a while now too but haven't done anything so you're way ahead of me!
ReplyDeleteLOvE it, the detail is AMAZING!
ReplyDeleteLove it! Looks great!
ReplyDeleteI love it!
ReplyDeleterats, I made the chalkboard part first, now trying to find a frame to fit is going to be tough. so, it sits bare.... but still used.
ReplyDeleteI. LOVE. IT. Where do you find such great frames?? I think someone keeps beating me to the punch at our consignment shops!
ReplyDeletePerfect!
ReplyDeletemust be extra super cute if the hubby hates it! LOL (from my own experience)

So cute! Thanks for adding the husband comment, it is nice to know I'm not the only one whose husband has differing opinions on my creations. That made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteI love it! Especially that it's red. Sometimes husband's just don't "get it".
ReplyDeleteWhere did you find such an awesome find, love it.
ReplyDeleteYou sure found a treasure...wow, what an amazing transformation...great job!

ReplyDeleterock on girl! Looks FAB! sort of looks like a chalkboard I made - LOL
love red! my husband would agree with your's.
ReplyDeleteOH NO! Your hubby hates it? I love it! Of course, I am a sucker for anything red!!
ReplyDeleteI need a frame like that! I've been looking but I haven't been able to find one. I saw an idea on a photography website where they had a funky frame like that and painted it some funky color. They didn't put anything inside the frame, but then they had the kids hold the frame around their head for the picture. It was super cute and I want a picture like that of my 3 boys but I haven't been able to find a frame yet.... I guess I'll have to keep looking.
ReplyDeleteWe love your blog and we've linked to you a couple of times. Check out our blog and if you like our stuff, we'd love to have you ad our button to your side bar.
