I found out yesterday that my hubby's cousin is expecting
twin boys!
How fun is that!
So I got right to work making one of my favorite baby gifts- appliqued onesies.
I especially love the little boy's neckties.

Then my 8-year-old made the mistake of saying those two little words:
I'm bored!
So, I put her to work creating her own applique. Look how cute it turned out!
She sewed most of it by herself and used the super-cute fabric Kari at Ucreate sent me.
I've decided we need to spend a lot more time together sewing.
We are both learning and it's fun!
PS- I gave up on potty training.
He's not ready...
or maybe I am just lazy and unwilling to do more laundry.
Either way I'm done...
for awhile...
a long while.
they are super cute!
ReplyDeleteand I love the heart one too, I think my daughter would love to make something like that...off to check out the tutorial.
very cute! I love your daughter's applique too! VERY CUTE!
ReplyDeleteMy two cents? Save potty-training until after the move. He doesn't need two giant transitions simultaneously {and neither do you}. =)
ReplyDeletep.s. Your daughter's heart turned out darling -- how fun to be crafty together!
That is pretty much darling! Your talented 8 yr-old needs to start a blog:)
ReplyDeleteYou and I must be soul sisters. I just gave up on potty training my two year old. Something about the constant urine smell...
ReplyDeleteoh... love the applique, too. ;)
I love those lil ties! My lil' man needs one of those...never tried applique...but maybe its time!
ReplyDeleteThanks
That heart shirt is so cute! Better than anything Target has made (my fav holiday clothes store)
ReplyDeleteI love doing the ties! My 3 yr old just wore one for Christmas- I had a few dads ask for them!!
ReplyDeleteGood Luck on the potty training- I would wait until your settled- big transitions are hard!!!
Thanks for sharing all the great ideas!
I have two boys, 11 and 4 and with both of them, I didn't start potty training until the week before they turned 3. Even though my Mom swore all her kids were trained by 2, I didn't push it with my boys. BTW, they were both trained in a week and never had any accidents!!! It was super, super easy!!!!!! Don't worry about it, use M&M's as rewards and keep calm, the potty WILL be conquered (you don't see any kindergarteners in diapers!!).
ReplyDeleteCute shirts. Maybe my boys needs some of those.
ReplyDeleteEvery mom has her 2 cents on potty training, so I'll just share mine. I REALLY believe that when kids are ready that is the time to start. Just like some are ready to walk at different times and talk at different times, but for some reason we are nice about that and let them work at their own pace. I think for a positive experience for ALL, you just have to wait until the child is ready (assuming they don't wait until they are 14 or something!)
Dear Nannygoat,
ReplyDeleteWith all of your wonderful ideas, do you have one for me so I can keep my earrings organized & easier to find? Right now they are all in one very small drawer in a jewelry box & it is not working? Any thoughts??
Your Friend, Camille B
How adorable are these?! So glad you love the Valentine fabric I sent! I think I'll copy you and make some for my daughers!!
ReplyDeleteI'm with Shari. I have 3 boys, and they are harder to potty train than my friends girls were. I think it's the male gene in them asserting their control! ha! They will do it when they are ready, ease up, don't worry and let it happen naturally. One day something in them will click - and whamo! No more diapers!! BTW- your appliques are precious. LOVE ties.
ReplyDeletethose are super cute! and your daughter did a fabulous job...my daughter would adore a shirt like that... and i have recently given up on potty training my 3 yr old daughter (my daughter was not easier than my son)...im sorry you are having a hard time too...but it is so nice to hear someone else taking a break for a while...everyone is giving me grief about it - you know once you start you have to keep at it? ..(course everyone is all those who are not participating in the training)
