Our house was officially "listed" on the MLS last Wednesday and the craziness began. We received phone calls just hours after the listing for showings and I became a crazy cleaning machine. I cleaned and cleaned (while my boys made messes on the other side of the house where I wasn't looking) then we spent hours in the car, at the park, at the store, at McDonald's etc. waiting for the people to look at our house and then leave (please).
I was a little stressed.
Cleaning all day and then dreaming about cleaning (and people breaking into my home pretending to be Realtors) all night... It could take months to sell our house.... How am I NOT going to lose it?!?!
So when we got an offer on Saturday I was thrilled and when we got an even better offer yesterday I was ecstatic!
We took the offer.
Yep, 7 days of showings and it is official, we have a contract.
What a blessing.
So happy for us...
So happy for them.
I hope they make as many happy memories in this house as we have.
It will be hard to say good-bye...
it is our "home" after all.
Congratulations! Selling a house in a week is a record! I'm so happy for you. Do you know where you are heading now?
ReplyDeleteCongrats on a quick sale. I know that selling stuff can be so stressful. Good Luck in Washington. We are sad you won't be coming back to Utah, but you will have great adventures where you are going. I love the blog. I have been following since December.
ReplyDeleteMany cute ideas and inspiration.
I got my sister to try your stove cleaning trick, she is sooooo happy. Thanks
Sarah
Congratulations on the quick sale! I am so jealous though- took us 9 months to sell ours - that is a lot of cleaning and stress with three kids 4 and under! Love your blog!
ReplyDeleteCongrats! That is awesome! Living in a house while showing it is really hard. You guys got lucky!
ReplyDeleteWow! Congrats!
ReplyDeleteHappy Days! It will make your move so much less stressful to have the house sold! Good luck in Washington!
ReplyDeleteOh man you are so lucky! It took us 9 months too. I hope you are getting excited to move to Washington, we love it!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on such a quick sale!! You got lucky!! When we sold our last home it took us 3 YEARS on the market!! Yeah, you heard right...YEARS! That's what happens when you buy in a new development and try to sell while they are still building new homes. It was a long tortuous experience. Our oldest child was 6 mos old when we listed it and by the time we sold it he was 3 1/2 years old and we had another 15mos old child. I cleaned house 24/7 for 3 yrs! Crazy. The house we live in now was only on the market for less than a week when we bought it. I hope we have the same luck when we sell in a couple years. I hope you enjoy your next home and make many great new memories!

Wow, that is awesome! And in the market these days, 7 days... wow. I hope that all goes well for you and your family and that you make many new memories in your new home, where ever that may be.
ReplyDeleteI am saying a thank you to God for his faithfulness to always provide for us!
Blessings to you,
Cindy

I want to say I HATE YOU, but really congrats. Ours has been on the market a little over a month and I am already a big ball of CRAZY over the cleaning. It's nearly impossible with a 16m old and 4yr old underfoot all the time.
ReplyDeleteYay!!! Just another sign things are working out exactly as they are supposed to. That's awesome :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats on selling the house! I cried when I closed the door for the last time on my first home, but we are making many memories in our new home.
ReplyDeleteOh Kathryn, We will miss you here. I am happy I knew you.
ReplyDeleteyah! I knew it would! congrats!
ReplyDeleteThat is so awesome! I didn't know what kind of market Kentucky is in but by the pics of your house, I could totally tell that it would sell quickly. If we had job up in Kentucky, I would have put on offer on the table. :) Good luck with your move.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations! That is amazing that you sold your house that fast. What a great feeling! So glad you don't have to deal with months of your house being on the market, trying to keep everything in tip top shape. We are moving in September, and I am not looking forward to having to always have the house in "showing" condition. So happy for you!
ReplyDeleteCongrats Kathryn! You're house IS so cute. What a relief! They are going to love it.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on the quick sale
