Am I the only one who has to decorate a mantel with a Ginormous TV in the middle of it??? It's kind of distracting don't you think?!
I love to hang our stockings from the staircase and display all of our Christmas cards from the mantel. All you need is a long piece of string and tiny clothespins.
I love to look at the mantel and see so many faces I love and miss.

very cute, love the decked out mantel. I did something similar with the draping of the cards... only I draped mine from garland over a mirror! ;)

I feel your pain! We have the same situation with the TV over the mantle and then speakers next to the TV, so it makes it very hard to put many decorations up. You did a great job! I can't wait to get out some garland and cover up those speakers! Hehe, don't tell DH!

I have been working with a HUGE tv and the cords for years. I keep thinking I can pull the cords somehow in to my decor, but haven't yet. This is a great idea Kathryn!
What do you suggest if you don't have a stair rail? Just the mantel? It's my dilemma every year! What to do with the Christmas cards and stockings?
