Losing Focus

I have a love/ hate relationship with blogging.

I love it because it opens me to a whole new world of ideas and information and creativity and gives me a place to share my thoughts and ideas and projects. Not to mention meet new people like YOU! I LOVE it!!

The hate (lets say dislike- hate is a strong word)part comes in because I sometimes find myself spending WAY too much time on the computer. I have 4 young kids and I can't tell you how many times they have stood next to me asking me a question over and over again, trying to get my attention as I jump from blog to blog.

Anyway, I feel I am losing my focus... gotta take a step back.

My kids will only be this little for a "little" while and I just don't want to regret how I spent this time.

So, thanks for being so good to nannygoat. Your comments make me smile (LOVE that part too)and I will see you in a "little" while... that rhymed

PS This is just a much needed break... I'll be back

totally can relate! you will be missed, but not by your children...that's most important!

ps, I made my version of your spring banner today...it turned out cute...not as cute as yours, but then, whose would be?

Take care!

I understand completely! When kids are small, oohh, now mine are in high school and college! Hugs to all of you!

Yes...I am right there with you. I wish I could do a million projects and check out everyone else's but then I step back into reality and see how much I am missing when I get too caught up in craft blogging.

You are so right. There will always be projects, but real life doesn't stop. It's not enough to make a bunch of stuff when you're missing out on making memories with the ones you love.

I hear ya girl! I should do the same.

Very understandable! I do the same thing, and I'll still be here whenever you do post!

That's the way it should be! You've got priorities straight. My blog surfing is limited, b/c my baby will be crawling soon and getting into everything!! : )

PS when you plunge into the cricut world, check out www.ohmycrafts.com for great deals, and also ebay...i've gotten carts from the seller "proudparents2005" and they are amazing-like, $35. NEVER spend retail for carts, esp. from Michaels-seriousy, who has $90 to throw around?

I was the first to get a bug in my scrap friends circle. I just made a list of all the carts we have among us, and we swap back and forth so we don't spend gobs of money. It's working great. We just set some ground rules for borrowing. : )

Good on you for bringing the focus back to your beautiful family -something I think we all need to do! I can't think how many hours a week I'm on the computer surfing blogs, websites etc when my boy is missing out on my attention & not to mention the completely messy & dirty house! Well done, see you when you are back.

Agreed. Even now with a 10 month old people tell me all sorts of things to do so he can be independent...then I remember our oldest is going to college this year and how fast those years went by. I cherish every moment with our little one, and so should you!

I totally understand. I was about to start a new blog to 'bookmark' all the crafts I want to take on. And now I keep thinking, how much time is this going to take from my family. I have 5 kids and I go to school, so I'm already stretched thin. Enjoy the break!

Well said... I am with you, I am re-prioritizing my life. Your children need to come first- you're a mom before a blogger ;)

Totally Agree - so why am I still blog-hopping??? Uhg!

I understand. I spend way too much time blog surfing, but I love, love, love reading what others are creating. I plan to limit myself to an hour a day. Crossing my fingers I can do it.
Love your blog!

I totally understand. I have 4 kids also and I feel the same way. I took about a month off and I have come back, but I don't think I will be blogging as much as I was before.

It's a great outlet for me and I really enjoy it, but can also get addicted to it.

You do a great job and I hope you come back (at least part time or every now and then). I really love your blog, but totally get where you are coming from.

I respect your decision to step back. I've had to scale back blogging and facebook. Sometimes, it's just too much.
Just wanted to say that I stumbled upon your 30-day meal plan idea about a month ago. Wow! I mean really, WOW! I was stuck in a huge meal time rut. You know, tacos, spaghetti, pancakes, tacos, spaghetti, pancakes, and on and on. My family has a lot of allergies (chicken, eggs, soy, wheat) so it's hard to find new meals. But, I persevered and found new meals, like turkey enchiladas and spicy turkey and rice casserole and pork carnita. Yum! I listed them and I now I've got a rotation based upon your plan. I'm still working on my ingredient spreadsheet. I have 27 meals so far. Thanks for your help. My family thanks you too.

I applaud your decision. It is hard to stop, but a wise person recognizes when there is too much of a good thing. Be proud of your will power to take that step back!
